For the first time since 2000 the St. John’s Red Storm are Big East Tournament Champions. The Red Storm defeated Creighton 82-66 to secure their first conference tournament championship in 25 years, marking a return to prominence for one of college basketball’s historic programs.
St. John’s, who is led by head coach legend Rick Pitino, put together an impressive Big East Tournament run, showcasing grit, determination, and high level execution. The victory not only ends their decades long title drought but also solidifies their return as a force in the Big East, potentially for years to come.
