Emmanuel Clase: Clase had by far the best season of any reliever last season when he sported a 0.61 ERA, 0.65 WHIP, secured 41 saves, and recorded 66 strikeouts in 74.1 innings. His dominating cut fastball and devastating slider will surely solidify him as yet again another top-five closer for the 2025 season. You can rely on Clase to be a strong source of saves in roto leagues this summer.
Devin Williams: Since Williams has been in the majors, he has been one of the league’s most dominant relievers. After spending his first six seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers, Williams has a new home in the Bronx with the New York Yankees, where he will now be closing for one of the league’s best teams. He figures to find himself in more save situations with the Yankees as well. When you combine his strikeout success with his low ERA and WHIP, Williams will look to make an immediate impact with his new team and in fantasy lineups.
Josh Hader: Hader got off to a shaky start last season but found the dominance he has had throughout most of his career as the season went on. Hader is a strikeout machine and will be a great source of strikeouts and saves for fantasy managers this summer. You can expect Hader to have a bounce-back season in the ERA department, sitting somewhere below 3.00, and also expect his WHIP to be below 1.00 like it was last year and has been for most of his career.
Raisel Iglesias: Iglesias solidified himself as one of the most reliable closers in Major League Baseball, making him a top-five fantasy baseball option heading into the 2025 season. His 2024 campaign with the Atlanta Braves showed his elite ability to shut down games, posting a stellar 1.95 ERA and an impressive 0.74 WHIP over 69.1 innings. He converted 34 save opportunities and had great supporting numbers to go along with it, making him a surefire source for saves this upcoming season.
Ryan Helsley: Helsley has all the stuff you want in a fantasy closer. His fastball on average sits at about 100 mph, and his slider is filthy, leading to plenty of strikeouts. Last season, he posted a 2.04 ERA with 49 saves while striking out 79 batters, proving he has the ability to shut the door consistently. Helsley doesn’t just rack up saves—he does it efficiently. His 1.10 WHIP and ability to limit hard contact make him a safe bet to not hurt you in the ERA and WHIP department. If the Cardinals can find a way to be more competitive this year, you could find Helsley rising up this list in a hurry.
