
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers Monday night 111-108 in the Lakers first game since losing Lebron James to a groin injury.
The Nets sit four games out of the play-in game on March 11th 2025 and are seemingly turning there attention towards a tanking season yet again.
After the NBA All-Star break the Nets were tied for the final play-in spot but since then have fallen out of the race significantly. After and up and down season which saw the Nets be a streaky inconsistent team they are poised to wind up in the NBA Draft Lottery after all.
Cooper Flagg the forward from Duke University who is dominating college basketball right now should have always been the Nets number one priority this year but Jordi Fernandez and the rest of the Brooklyn Nets organization had other ideas.
The Nets currently sit with the 6th best odds to land the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft and they should be focused on losing the rest of the way and be trying to better there odds in the Flagg sweepstakes.
Will the Nets make the play-in or get the first overall pick? Right now the play-in seems more likely.
